February meeting minutes were reviewed and accepted
President’s Report
Jenny Merritt had nothing to report
Vice President’s
Report
Jim Malloy sited yet another possibility that would allow for
his ascension to the position of President.
Secretary’s Report
Connie Torres had nothing to report
Treasurer’s Report
Cassie Malloy reported out on the club’s current finances –
a copy of which is available on request.
She also noted that the club’s current membership stands at 54

There will be enough entry wristbands for all. Individuals requiring said bands could call
the following people from the door to have theirs provided:

Staffy Spring Fling
Potluck
Cassie Malloy said that Kristy Strunks would do the flyer
for this event. Cassie went on to say
the club will provide drinks, paper products and utensils and everyone is to
bring what they want to share.

No problems or requests for a paper copy were reported. Becky Graham updated her email address and
told Cassie Malloy that a email newsletter was a good idea.
Specialty
SPTCA Judge Application for Peter Snow was sent.
Jenny Merritt and Marji Haley are doing trophies again this
year. Jenny said trophy options under
consideration are embroidered fabric and myrtle wood. As always, ribbons will be presented to
Veteran Dogs. Jenny suggested asking
Judy Keller (Originals by Springer) to do laser engravings if myrtle wood
trophies are used.
Jenny said she would talk to Dana about the logo change
suggested at the last meeting.
The traditional barbeque and silent auction will happen
again this year.
Cassie Malloy suggested the club do something for the Sweeps
Judges. Jenny Merritt suggested a nice
gift bag, lunch to be provided, an invitation to the barbeque, a thank you
letter and an annual. No decision was
made.
New Business
Connie Torres wanted it noted that Kristy Strunks does an
outstanding job at putting together and making available the show results for
the monthly newsletters
Pet Legislation
Connie Torres presented a paper received from the
Clubs can donate to the
Cassie Malloy suggested the “American Canine Foundation”
that is centered here in the northwest and goes around the country filing suits
regarding breed specific legislation might be an organization to look into.
Jim Malloy called for a vote to send a representative to the
upcoming seminar, “Organizing to Win” on March 7. Jenny Merritt will be the representative for
our club at the seminar, with expenses paid.
